For children aged 6 years and over (WISC-V)
Useful to gain insight into a child’s specific areas of cognitive strength and weakness to inform intervention and support learning, or assess for giftedness.
Comprehensive DSM-5 diagnostic assessment of intellectual & adaptive functioning.
ADHD assessments are suitable for children with suspected ADHD and can be used to inform or support formal diagnosis by medical professionals such as Paediatricians or Psychiatrists. ADHD assessments also offer parents and teachers a greater understanding of the child's unique cognitive profile, including areas of strength and weakness. Recommendations for ways to support the child based on their cognitive profile are also offered as part of the assessment report.
This service provides a 'one-off' consultation with the Psychologist. This includes clinical interview, a battery of basic screening assessment tools, and observation/assessment of the child. Parent's concerns regarding their child's presentation are collaboratively explored and specific recommendations offered; based on interview, observation and psychometric data obtained. Reports of findings and recommendations are provided upon request (additional cost applies).

Referrals are required for all assessments, with referral from medical and or allied health professionals preferred. However self-referral (by parent/caregiver) are also accepted under some circumstances.
If you are interested in assessment via a self-referral, please contact us via email @ firstname.lastname@example.org or via the contact form on the website and we can advise on whether this would be suitable or not.
Clients may wish to consult with their individual health funds and/or Medicare to check if any rebates are available; however, generally speaking, psychological assessments are not covered by Medicare or Private Health Insurance and payment must be made by the client directly to our service in full. Some minimal rebates may be applicable for ASD assessment sessions under the Medicare 'Helping Children with Autism' scheme (with eligible Paediatrician referral). Please contact Nicola for specific enquiries.
We are currently able to offer assessments with a relatively short wait time, typically within 8 weeks. Contact us now regarding assessment availability.
Unfortunately, at this time the service is only offering assessment and workshop/group services. Parents are welcome to send an expression of interest via email to be place on a waitlist for future therapeutic service availability. Families may wish to try searching for psychologists via the APS find a psychologist website (https://psychology.org.au/find-a-psychologist)
This service only offers psychological services and clients will need to contact and arrange services of speech pathologists and/or Paediatricians independently. However, Nicola can provide a list of Speech Pathologists specially trained in assessment of ASD if required. Alternatively, families may wish to refer to the WAADF website. Although the service does receive referrals from a number of Paediatricians, unfortunately many of these specialists have closed their books to new patients.
