The service was opened in October 2021, as a result of Nicola's passion and interest in providing neuro-affirming, professional, comprehensive, and timely assessment services. Although based north of the river in Perth (clinic rooms in Ocean Reef), the practice offers flexible service options including Telehealth or home/school-based services, where possible. 

NICOLA ALBRECHT, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST (she/her)

Nicola has completed a Bachelor of Arts (with First Class Honours) in Psychology, minoring in Children and Family Studies and a Master of Psychology (MPsych - Clinical). Nicola is a practicing Clinical Psychologist with several years of experience in the areas of assessment, working with children and adolescents specifically. She is a current member of The Australian Psychological Society (APS) and Western Australian Autism Diagnosticians' Forum (WAADF) and has recent become an Affiliate Member of Australasian Society for Autism Research (ASfAR). Nicola is also a Professional member of ADHD WA.

Experience within both government and private sectors has provided Nicola with a broad skill set, working with children of varying ages, abilities, and presentations. Nicola's main area of special interest is working with autistic and ADHD individuals and their families. Nicola views helping individuals to discover and better understand and accept their neurotype through the process of diagnostic assessment as extremely rewarding. 

Nicola continues to undergo extensive professional development in the areas of autism, ADHD, and psychological assessment specifically, to ensure she is up to date with the latest clinical research and assessment instruments. Further, Nicola has both formal research experience and lived experience in parenting neuro-divergent children; complimenting her professional qualifications and informing her warm and sensitive approach to service provision.
